About Us
Owned and operated by George and Kally, Mirage Furniture has handcrafted bespoke outdoor furniture, lovingly made to order, since 2004.
Every piece is built in our local workshop: welded aluminium frames hand-woven with the latest-generation REHAU® Raucord polymer weave by our team of skilled artisans. The result is maintenance-free, weatherproof furniture: UV-resistant, permanently colourfast and chemical-resistant, built to live outdoors for decades without cracking, fading or warping. We work closely with interior designers, architects, hotel groups and lodge operators, as well as luxury residential clients, giving every project white-glove attention from enquiry to delivery.

The Factory
Every Mirage piece begins with a welded aluminium frame that is lightweight, corrosion-resistant and structurally strong, then hand-woven with REHAU® Raucord, a German-engineered polymer-fibre weave purpose-built for outdoor performance. Unlike natural wicker or cheaper synthetic alternatives, REHAU® Raucord will not crack, split, dry out or rot, regardless of climate. Its UV-stabilised formula is permanently colourfast: no bleaching, no brittleness, no fading even under years of full African sun. It is fully impervious to rain, humidity, salt air and pool chemicals, and its high tensile strength means it holds its shape under daily use: no sagging, stretching or warping over time. A wipe with a damp cloth or a rinse with a garden hose is all the maintenance it will ever need. REHAU has spent over 15 years perfecting this weave, and it is the same hospitality-grade material specified for luxury hotels, resorts and poolside lounges worldwide, not a budget synthetic substitute.
Every inch of our outdoor furniture is hand-woven by a dedicated team of artisans, made up primarily of previously unemployed women who take immense pride in their craft. Their skilled attention to detail is what lets Mirage deliver flawless, hard-wearing patio and pool furniture built to endure decades outdoors, and we’re proud to employ local skilled labour.

Every piece is hand-woven to order in our White River workshop. Typical lead time is 6 weeks from order confirmation, and we arrange delivery across South Africa.
REHAU® Raucord weave is maintenance-free. Wipe it with a damp cloth or hose it down. No varnishing, treatment or covers are needed, even outdoors year-round.

Cheaper synthetic or natural wicker typically needs replacing within a few seasons: it fades, cracks or sags under sun and rain. Mirage pieces are hand-woven onto welded aluminium frames in UV-stabilised REHAU® Raucord, and clients are still using theirs after ten, sixteen years and more. One well-made piece can outlast several cheaper replacements, which is why we build to order rather than mass-produce.
